Teri Tito grew up in the south side of Chicago in the Bridgeport neighbourhood. As a Publisher of a magazine focused on design and art, she has always been fascinated by the art of others and later she developed painted ideas of her own on canvas during the summer months in her Indiana beach house.

The open and unprejudiced way Tito looks at situations is reflected in her paintings: they are direct and elating/enthusing as they emerge out of curiosity and the willingness to experiment. During the painting process Tito doesn’t shy any risk, she attacks the canvas, not hesitating to cover and destroy parts in order to reach complex results. How Tito builds up her compositions is interesting: with her only leading thought being her curiosity about the result of colour and their reactions on different technical utilisations on the canvas. In unison to her discrete, undemonstrative personality, her works are giving a decent idea of Teri Tito during the moment of creation.
